Sometimes we’re in a rush. Sometimes we don’t have time to think about things like sustenance and nutrition. And then we get hungry and we eat the wrong thing. Or we carry an apple and a string cheese with us in our purse all day that doesn’t get eaten and ends up all mushy and gross and in the trash. Or now, there’s GoPicnic.
GoPicnic is a line of ready to eat meals that come in a just-right-sized box. There’s no trans fats, high fructose corn syrup, added MSG, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. And they don’t need refrigeration. Whaaaaat?!!! Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I’m not sure. Here’s GoPicnic’s explanation of how that works:
We rely on excellent ingredients and high performance packaging methods, not chemicals and artificial preservatives, to keep products fresh and at the height of their quality and taste for an extended period of time without refrigeration.
Apparently, as long as the food inside the box stays unopened, you’re good to go. They also come in about a bazillion different varieties including meals for vegans, vegetarians, kosher diets and gluten-free eaters. For my Weight Watchers out there the meals come in around the 7-8 point range. But what’s also nice about them is that each item in the box is packaged individually, so you can use it as a snack or a complete meal. It’s nice to have options, right?
And the bonus? You get to feel like the cool kid at the lunch table who’s way cool mom let you have a way cool Lunchable. It’s always a bonus to feel like a cool kid.
You can find these boxed wonders at Costco, Target, amazon.com or at www.gopicnic.com. I have a box in my car right now. And I will never again have to worry about keeping my car out of the McDonald’s drive-thru line when I’m out and about and hungry. So even though I’m a little frightened of these GoPicnics, I’m into it.
What do you think?
